Summer heatwave

Too hot to move!
July started off windy and wet and by the middle of the month a mini heatwave had occurred. Each night I was was seeing three to five badgers, some of them would make repeated visits and seemed content to just come lay on the lawn and groom each other. Truffle was like clockwork for a couple of weeks, 10.30pm and the first in. On this particularly night Truffle came back again for a second visit, had a drink out of the watering can and then laid down and fell asleep (see photo). I guessed the paving slabs were cool as that side of the garden was in the shade most of the day, and it seemed totally at ease despite all the doors to the house being open. I did start to wonder if it was ok as it was fast asleep for over half an hour, eventually it took a stretch, got up and ambled off into the garden.
